Notice of Application for SISU President Scholarship for the First Semester of the Academic Year 2024-2025

SISU President Scholarship for International Students for the first semester of the academic year 2024-2025 is now open for application. The application and evaluation methods are notified as follows:

I. Qualifications of Applicants

Applicants are eligible to apply under the condition of enrollment in the SISU for the current semester, studying in and out of China, abiding by Chinese laws and school discipline, with good performance,excellent academic achievements, full payment of tuition fees and have not received any other scholarships (including those who have discontinued their scholarships) .

Ⅱ. Application and Selection Process

1. Applicants should download the attached SISU President Scholarship Application Form , print it on both sides, fill in their personal information, summarize their study situation in the current semester, and submit the application form and the supporting materials of their participation in on-campus and off-campus activities and awards to the office of their colleges, and the corresponding points will not be recognized if they don't have the supporting materials. For applicants studying outside of China, please provide scanned copies of the application form and other materials to your college.

2. The college will make an overall evaluation of the applicant's study, attendance and usual performance in the current semester, and calculate the applicant's examination score, usual performance score and average attendance rate of the courses (Deadline: November 15, 2024).

3. The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange organizes a meeting of the President Scholarship Assessment Working Group to consider and determine the candidates for the President Scholarship and the criteria to be awarded, and reports the result to the President Scholarship Assessment Leading Group for finalization of the awardees.

4. The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange will publicize the list of award-winning students, and submit the list of award-winning students to the President's Office for approval after the expiration of publicity with objections.

5. After the finalization of the President's Office, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange will issue certificates to the recipients of the President Scholarship and submit the list of the President Scholarship and the table of the award amount to the Division of Financial Affairs for uniform distribution.

Ⅲ. Evaluation Methods and Criteria

The selection of the President Scholarship is based on the comprehensive assessment results, including academic performance, usual performance and activities (including competitions) performance. Comprehensive assessment scores = test scores * 70% + usual scores * 30% + activities reward points.

1. Examination Score. Examination score is the average grade of all courses of international students in the mid-term examination of the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. International students with good grades and no failed courses are eligible for the President Scholarship.

2. The Usual Score. The usual score is marked by percentage, which is assessed by the training college based on their attendance, learning attitude, classroom and homework performance, and academic level.

3. Award Score. International students who participate in activities during the period from May 25, 2024 to November 15, 2024 will be given award points, which will be assessed by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange based on the materials submitted by the colleges.

The criteria for scoring points are:

(1) 2-4 points/time for participating in university-level activities and receiving awards;

(2) 3-5 points/time for participating in district/county level activities and receiving awards;

(3)5-7 points/time for participating in provincial/ministerial level activities and receiving awards;

(4) 6-8 points/time for participating in national level activities and receiving awards;

(5) 1 point/time for participating in activities but do not receive an award;

The specific points of the activity award points will be agreed by the President Scholarship Review Working Group, and the cumulative total will not be more than 10 points, and the same activity will take the award points of the highest level.

IV. Scholarship Criteria

1. First Class Scholarship: 4000 RMB/person

2. Second Class Scholarship: 3000 RMB/person

3. Third Class Scholarship: 2,000 RMB/person

4. Outstanding Contribution Award: 1000-3000 RMB/person
