Scholarship introduction

Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship, provided by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, aims at attracting outstanding international students to study in Chongqing, improving the international influence of Chongqing universities, and realizing the modernization and internationalization of education. Approved by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, Sichuan International Studies University is eligible to provide the Chongqing Municipal People's Government Mayor Scholarship for international students.

Scholarship coverage

(1) The First Prize Scholarship

a. tuition fees

b. living allowance: 1000 CNY per month with 10 months per year

(2) The Second Prize Scholarship

a. tuition fees: 10000CNY per year

b. no living allowance

Eligibility

to be eligible, an applicant must:

(1) be a citizen of a country other than the PRC and in good health both mentally and physically.

(2) Education background, age and language competence

a. be an academically excellent holder of high school diploma or its equivalent under the age of 25 when applying for an

undergraduate program and have passed the HSK (Level 5) 180 points or more when applying for a Chinese-taught undergraduate program (excluding Chinese language majors).

b. be an academically excellent holder of a

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 and have passed the HSK (Level 5) 180 points or more when applying for a Master’s program.

Application process

(1). An applicant shall login SISU International Student Service System and submit the required documents.

(2). SISU will examine applicants’eligibility and academic performance and report the short-list candidates to Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. The SISU will notify the admission result to the applicant after examination.

(3) Application deadline: June 15^th, 2022.

(3) A scanned copy of the Passport Information Page that will not expire on or before his graduation/completion time;

(4) An applicant shall submit a valid Certificate of Non-Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate) issued by

the local public security (such as the police station), usually issued within six months prior to the submission date of the application attached with a notarized Chinese or English translation only if it isn’t written in Chinese or English originally;

(5) An applicant shall submit a copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The medical examinations must cover allthe items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete recordsor those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid. Medical examination results are valid for only six months;

(6) A bare-headed identification photo;

(7) Diploma and certificate of highest education (notarized photocopy). An applicant who is a current university

student shall submit the certificate of expected graduation or student status by his/her university;

(8) Academic record. An applicant shall submit a notarized Chinese or English translation version if it isn’t written

in Chinese or English originally;

(9) Certificate of language proficiency. When applying for a Chinese-taught program, an applicant shall provide a valid HSK score report that meets the program’s language ability requirements;

(10) A study or research plan written in Chinese or English (no less than 200 words/characters for undergraduates; no

less than 500 words/character for scholars; no less than 1000 words/characters for postgraduates);

(11) Recommendation letters. An applicant for a postgraduate program shall submit two recommendation letters in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors; An applicant for undergraduate program shall submit a recommendation letter from high school.
